Leilani Nguyen Ly

Leilani is a third-year pre-NP student majoring in Nutrition & Metabolic Biology and Public Health. She is a Vietnamese first-generation college student from Oakland, CA. Her passion for maternal, child, and adolescent health is rooted in her lived experiences growing up in an underserved community and through hands-on work in healthcare and research settings. Through experiences in pediatrics, labor and delivery, community health education, and neonatal research, she has seen how language barriers, biased medical technologies, and structural inequities shape health outcomes long before birth. These experiences drive her commitment to serving families through culturally responsive and community-centered care, with the goal of advancing health equity across generations.
