The California Preterm Birth Initiative has a long track record of engaging and partnering with community members, participating and working as members of coalitions, developing and implementing trainings (community advisory board and Benioff Community Innovators), providing strategic guidance, and developing and creating compelling communications (reports, campaigns, video, etc.). We are focused on Black and Brown communities and the issues these communities face in the birth justice and reproductive health spaces.Given that racism is the root cause of so many health disparities, requiring systemic change, our work is necessarily intersectional. This means our team collaborates with stakeholders undertaking a wide range of
efforts from policy to housing to environmental justice.
